What is the Duke of Edinburgh Award all about?

A DofE programme is a real adventure from beginning to end.  It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from.  You just need to be aged between 14 and 24 and realise there’s more to life than sitting on a sofa watching life pass you by.

You achieve your Award by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections, which involve helping the community, getting fitter, developing skills and going on expedition. The DofE is about personal development, participants will gain confidence along with skills in leadership & teamwork… qualities which are found highly desirable by both employers and Universities.

We meet at Emmer Green Youth and Community Centre between 6 and 7:30pm every Tuesday during Term Time and have several adventures during the weekend. New entrants to will be able to join us next September; if you are between the ages of 14-18 we can offer both the bronze and silver level award.

You can register before September to guarantee your place at Emmer Green DofE and start completing some of your sections. However we can only accept a limited number of participants each year, typically 4 bronze groups.

So don’t leave it too late or you may be disappointed, some people register a year in advance!
